The Botanic Gardens
Ruapotaka went to the botanical garden. We walked through the gardens and saw different flower, plants and trees. It was a big garden. One thing I learned is that Pohutukawa is a native tree in New Zealand. It's also our native Christmas tree. I also learned ]about the Magnolia flower and it smelled very nice. There were worms that ate scraps in a glass box and we could only see them if we lifted a dirty cloth.

All about polar bears
I learnt that polar bears are good at catching food and they are mammals. They live in the arctic, their paws are the same size as a dinner plate and they are the biggest bears in the world.

My cinquain poem about cheetahs
This poem is about cheetahs. Cheetahs are the fastest cats. They hide in the grass and jump out and attack its prey. I learned that a cinquain poem has 5 lines and each line needs to have different numbers of words. I picked different adjectives to describe actions that the cheetah does.

Did you hear about baboons?
I went to the zoo and I learned that baboons have red bottoms that add extra cushioning. I had fun time because we saw a lot of animals and we did interesting activities.
